Shanghai | China: A Longing For Western Style Food Longing Leads To Supermarket Scrounging, See What We Found!

chinese grocery store food

When you have had all the noodles and fish head soup you can eat, it’s time to get back to the essentials. We scrounged this bag of beauty from a local grocery store, god bless. Cheese is a son of a gun to find, let me tell you, and pricey at about $1.50 for six slices. The sandwich bread is mostly sweet there too and had a hard time finding the unsweetened variety. Turkey you ask? No way sailor! Pork is da meat in deez parts, and even our sliced ham has a little gristle left in for extra texture. Wooeee! Those lays are gonna taste damn good! Hey…we are backpacking!
