Sydney | Australia :: Blue Mountains

The slate colored haze that is exuded from the oil of eucalyptus trees gives these mountains their name, a great excursion from Sydney if you have a few extra days. We headed there shortly after the New Year to explore the sandstone plateaus and traverse the plains with some invigorating bush walks and we were not disappointed. We stayed in Katoomba, near the Blue Mountains National Park and visited all the drive up lookouts, most notably, Echo Point, where the viewing platform gave us an awesome view of the “Three Sisters” rock formation and the vastness of the blue valleys.
